“Candida Diet Guidelines”
Easy to follow Candida diet guidelines for
health and vitality
If you have read and understand the real
underlying cause of Candida then you know that Candida is really
the natural consequence of a condition called Intestinal Dysbiosis
or in other words a disturbed intestinal environment. Pathogenic
Candida can NOT exist in a healthy intestinal environment. If
the goal is to heal rather than just manage your symptoms your
actions will have to be geared towards restoring the healthy
environment of your intestinal tract.
In the case of intestinal dysbiosis, pathogenic or disease
causing micro-organisms and putrefactive bacteria
have the chance to dominate and crowd out the
good bacteria. This is the start of a vicious circle, which if
allowed to continue eventually leads to intestinal Candidiasis and more serious diseases.
This
always results in impaired digestion and mal-absorption of the
nutrients in the food we eat. A negative consequence of this is that
our body needs to exert more energy it normally would take get this
job done. (One of the reasons why Candidiasis leads to chronic
fatigue)
----- Personal Note
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Candida diet guidelines do not have to be an impossible to
follow regimen of unpalatable foods. In the past I have followed a
diet for Candida which was very restrictive with only mixed results.
I did this more out of desperation in dealing with my constant
fatigue, skin problems and other symptoms then out of really
knowing what works and equally important why. The yeast infection
diet guidelines presented here will help you make healthier choices
and help your body heal itself of a Candida Albicans overgrowth by
restoring the health of your digestive tract.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With a healthy digestive system our body is able to
breakdown, absorb and finally assimilate nutrients into
our cells for fuel and maintenance. Candida is a sign
that the internal environment of our digestive
tract is out of balance which is also referred to as intestinal
dysbiosis.
Following the Candida diet guidelines outlined below will help
your digestive tract return to its healthy state and the
reasoning behind it is pretty simple. Much of the Candida diet
guidelines are simply common sense by eliminating toxic foods such
as simple and refined carbohydrates. The Candida diet eliminates the
feeding ground for Candida by removing those foods it thrives on which
consist primarily of simple sugars.
The Candida diet guidelines in conjunction
with the right supplements, will allow your body to restore your
digestive tract to its original state of health and prevent your
immune system from being in a constant state of war. Since your body
has to spend less energy on digesting your food and the constant
immune response, you will have more energy and vitality.
----- Personal Note
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not
a big believer of taking supplements as a habit. Most often it is
used as a crutch and a way out by avoiding letting go of an
unhealthy habit in favor of a healthy one. On the other hand when
suffering from a degenerative disease such as Candidiasis, I do not
believe that following the Candida Diet Guidelines alone as outlined
here are enough.
My personal experience has been that following
these Candida Diet Guidelines in the past helped curb my symptoms
but nothing more. On another note it is important to realize that
the foundation of a your health is having healthy habits. Most often
it is more difficult for us to let go of unhealthy habits then do
something specific which positive. No matter what positive actions
you take, true healing will elude you as long as you avoid letting
to of unhealthy habits. We have the choice to be healthy and feel
alive or have bad eating habits, we can’t have both at the same time.
Being healthy starts by eliminating harmful actions and replacing
them with positive habits for living a healthy life.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is nothing inherently bad or unhealthy about carbohydrates.
The problem begins when our intake of simple carbohydrates is
excessively high and out of proportion to our protein intake and on
top of that is low on the glycemic index. One objective of the
Candida diet guidelines is to correct this imbalance. The
glycemic index of a food is basically a measurement of how fast a
carbohydrate is absorbed and metabolized by our body.
The amounts of refined carbohydrates in the average western diet are
absolutely ridiculous and eventually have to lead to health
problems. Refined foods are separated from its whole food complex of
minerals and other nutrients, which eliminate its natural buffer.
The Candida diet guidelines will help you prevent the above problems
and risks.
The role of insulin is to stimulate your body to
take excess glucose from carbohydrates and amino acids from protein
and to convert them into lipids (fat). Incidentally, this insulin
response is much higher in the case of especially refined
carbohydrates causing spikes putting an enormous strain on
especially your liver. This is one reason why the Candida diet
guidelines call for the elimination of refined sugars and starches
(which are unhealthy to begin with). When sugar levels in your blood
rise it triggers an insulin response.
Any excess of carbohydrates, which your body
cannot immediately use, will trigger an insulin
response and is converted into glycogen, which is stored either in
the liver or our muscle tissue. When our intake of carbohydrates
exceeds the ability of your body to store the converted glycogen in
our liver or muscles, it will convert this into fat and store it
into our adipose (fatty) tissue.
From having read the above it should be clear why
obesity and diabetes is such a pandemic in the
west. The (over)consumption of processed carbohydrates
and processed foods is a serious problem and is incompatible with
leading a healthy life. Most meat and poultry products contain
antibiotics and growth hormones which are detrimental to our health.
These substances not only can cause severe metabolic distortion and
are a burden on our body's regulatory and detox symptoms. An
overloaded immune system and liver cause toxins to build up and
remain in our body. This is one reason why the Candida diet avoids
the intake of these foods.
Processed foods are toxic to your body which place
a big load on your digestive system. They are
mostly nutrient deficient and are dead, meaning they contain no food
enzymes. All the enzymes needed to digest these foods need to come
from our body's own supply which of course means we have less energy
for other tasks. Partially undigested meat putrefies and this is
one of the underlying factors leading up to intestinal
dysbiosis.
Putrefactive bacteria and other pathogenic
microorganisms such as pathogenic Candida release toxins
which are extremely toxic even in small amounts and are small
enough to pass unhindered through the intestinal wall. When
this happens they enter directly
into our blood stream and our circulated in our body. There is
a lot of scientific research suggesting that these toxins play a
significant role in diseases such as ADHD, Alzheimer's,
schizophrenia and other degenerative illnesses.
When still in the process of healing from Candida and restoring a
healthy intestinal tract, there are some special Candida enzyme
products on the market. These products are formulated to digest the
cellulose wall of the Candida and cause the Candida cell to die. A
side effect of this is that the harmful toxins contained in the cell
are released.
The symptoms of this healing process can feel very
much like the symptoms of Candida itself; fatigue, heavy limbs etc.
By being listening to your body and understanding the process you
can avoid an unnecessary healing crisis. Incidentally, the above
should make it clear as to why it is so important to use a
powerful colon cleanser to quickly eliminate and flush out toxic
material.
----- Personal Note
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In the past I have experimented with a lot of different Candida diets.
This was before I knew anything about the importance of things such
as probiotics, enzyme supplementation and colon detoxing. The
results of my efforts were mixed and the Candida diet guidelines I
followed demanded a lot of discipline. The moment I would eat
anything slightly out of the ordinary such as having some honey for
example, I would have an outbreak.
What I did not know at the time
that I was suffering from severe Candidiasis (I didn't even know
What Candida was at the time). I realize that not everybody is
suffering from Candida as bad as I have in the past. No matter what
the current degree of Candidiasis you are currently suffering, it is
absolutely imperative you take control of it. A healthy diet is I
believe the foundation of health and of essential importance in
supporting your healing
process.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is important to keep the following in mind. These Candida
diet guidelines are just a part of overcoming your yeast infection
related symptoms. To get well fast, following a simple Candida diet
is not enough. Nutritional supplementation and detoxing is
essential in helping your body restore its healthy internal
balance.
Calling the above Candida Diet Guidelines is a little misleading
since these are really minimum dietary standards for a healthy diet
with the exception of a few Candida specific items. The
above Candida diet guidelines will also have an alkalizing effect on
your blood and body fluids. Pathogenic micro organisms can only
survive in an oxygen deficient and acidic environment. Eating
accordingly will have a major effect in normalizing your body pH. An
important factor in healing your body.
One of the most powerful truth to recognize is that our
past actions have created
the present and the future we are living into. Any positive
change we make for our lives will come with a price which is
different for everybody. For me it was having to be disciplined and
avoid using food as an emotional crutch whenever I was having a hard
time with something.
Healing your Candida is an opportunity to focus
on what is truly important for you and become a more empowered
human being. Health requires an investment on your part but there is
no reason to make it this heavy and unpleasant experience. These
Candida diet guidelines are relatively easy to follow with a little
discipline and the benefits of increased health and vitality far
outweigh any inconvenience they may create.
